Tram is originally from Vietnam. She and her family emigrated to the U.S. as political refugees making Nebraska their home for the past two decades. Community is such an important word coming from a city with a thriving immigrant and refugee population. In participating in DAT, she envisions learning about how to grow her toolbox of advocacy skills and SEA knowledge so that she can better serve her SEA community and the larger community. She is excited to learn about issues which are most important and pertinent in her own community and how to bolster those issues. She hopes to absorb as much information as she can to help spread awareness, build a stronger community centered around storytelling and identity, and to advocate for leadership that is inclusive and promotes belonging.
