Miley Sinantha Hu

Miley (she/her/hers) is an undergraduate at Stanford University studying Biology with a minor in Education. She comes from a large extended family of Laotian refugees and Chinese immigrants (both of her parents came to the US as young adolescents). She is currently living in San Francisco, and has long considered the queer community and the community of folx who she has lived with in cooperative houses as a second "chosen" family. She really loves to disperse camp out of her Honda, go backpacking and swimming, and create ceramic pieces in the studio she works out of. She is very excited to join DAT to dig into the way that her roots as a SEA person inform her passion for education -- for teaching and learning, for understanding equity in this country, and for investigating a structure for social change. On top of this, she is excited to be in community with folx of similar background and passion.
