immigration policy advocate, SEARAC
I was a born in a Thai refugee camp after my family escaped from Laos during the fallout of the Vietnam War. Growing up in the United States, I have seen and experienced how the systems and institutions in the only country I've ever called home re-traumatize and hurt refugee, immigrant, and minority communities. My professional career has been dedicated to changing our systems, institutions, and power structures to ensure that refugee, immigrant, and minority communities can truly call this country home. And as a queer Hmong American, I also work to ensure that advocacy efforts are intersectional and uplift all communities as we fight for more equitable country.

Hype song: Ariana Grande - Successful
“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.”
