Jennifer Gaynor

she/her/hers

Jennifer Gaynor is an academic whose professional work has largely focused on Southeast Asia in the world, as well as maritime and coastal concerns. Her grandparents were part of a diaspora that fled unlivable circumstances, and she was raised with a strong sense of equality and social justice. She grew up in New York city, went to high school in Harlem, and has lived in Southeast Asia (mostly Indonesia) for over four years. Though her family is scattered across the US, Buffalo has become her home -- fourteen years and counting. She is excited to join DAT because she wants to do more for, and make more happen for, the large and growing Southeast Asian American community here.
